1. Is owning a vaporizer legal?
Absolutely. A vaporizer is made to heat tobacco to a lower temperature so that it does not combust. Because it does not combust, the tobacco can be consumed through vapors instead of smoke making vaporizing safer and healthier. Tobacco is legal. Therefore, a device that uses tobacco is legal.
2. How is a vaporizer healthier than smoking?
Vaporizing is better than smoking simply because there is no smoke. When smoke enters the lungs it leaves behind tar and the high heat of the smoke damages the lungs. This is from where most of the harmful effects of smoking stem. Vapor is far cooler in temperature and it does not produce tar and other harmful byproducts.
3. What are the different kinds of transfer systems?
Most vaporizers use either a forced air transfer system or a draw system. Usually vaporizers that use a draw system can only be used with whips or other mouth pieces. Forced air vaporizers have the ability to push vapor into a balloon that can be either used by one person or passed around. Many vaporizers use both methods. Often portable vaporizers use a draw system. However, more and more portable vaporizers are being made with forced air systems.
4. Are vaporizers noisy?
Most vaporizers do not make any noise at all. Forced air vaporizers might make a little noise because they use a fan. However, the noise is light and will not need to be shouted over.
5. Will others be able to smell the product when vaporizing?
Some vaporizers release more smell than others. However, even the most odor releasing vapor will not smell as strong as smoke. Vapor also fades more quickly because it is a gas whereas smoke has particles in it and will therefore linger and sink into the furniture. Some blends used in vaporizers smell like incense when released into the air.
6. How do I keep track of the vaporizer’s temperature control?
Many table top vaporizers come with digital displays that will keep track of the temperature. Some vaporizers have multiple temperature settings and will keep the heating element from going above that. Typically the vaporizer will do it itself.
7. Do the parts of a vaporizer ever need to be replaced?
Yes. That is why the parts are detachable. The actual unit can last a lifetime if properly cared for but glass, plastic tubing and filters will need to be replaced. Sometimes the parts get accidently broken and other times they just wear out. The parts are easy to find and usually inexpensive.
8. What is a vaporizer’s power source?
Most vaporizers get power from either an electrical outlet or a battery. Table top vaporizers are meant to be plugged into a stationary outlet to provide power. They have a cord and are stationary. Portable vaporizers use a battery that can be recharged. Most of the batteries are lithium batteries and are made to have long charge lives. The average continuous use time for a vaporizer battery is 2 hours.
