How to Get the Most Use Out of Your Pen Vaporizer

The vaping marketing continues to grow larger and more widespread with each passing month. According to a report published by Research And Markets, it's expected to surpass $50 billion by 2025, which is pretty impressive considering that that vaporizers were practically non-existent just a decade ago. Among the many factors contributing to this growth is the introduction of smaller, more portable vaporizers, rightfully known as “pen vaporizers.” Whether you currently own or are thinking of buying a pen vaporizer, we have some tips to help you get the most out of it.

Oil, Herb or Both?

Don't assume that all pen vaporizers are the same. Some of them are designed specifically for use with e-liquid, whereas others can be used with herb or essential oil (or both). So before using your pen vaporizer, familiarize yourself with its mechanics by reading the owner's manual. This should give you a better idea of its functions. Attempting to use herb in a vaporizer that's designed specifically for liquid could damage the device, so read the owner's manual beforehand.

Only Use Manufacturer-Approved Batteries

The vast majority of pen vaporizers sold today use rechargeable lithium-ion (LiPo) batteries. With that said, not all LiPo batteries are interchangeable, meaning you shouldn't attempt to use a battery that hasn't been approved by the manufacturer. If your battery dies for any reason, check the manufacturer's recommendations to find a suitable replacement. Depending on which vaporizer you purchase, it may even be covered under warranty, in which case the manufacturer will cover the cost of a new battery.

Watch the Heat

Want to know the secret to effectively using a pen vaporizer? It's maintaining a suitable temperature in which the herb/oil is warmed just enough to create vapor without turning it into smoke. If the temperature setting is too high, your pen vaporizer will produce smoke instead of vapor. Play around with the temperature settings to find the “sweet spot” that works for your herb or oil.

Keep it Clean

As with all vaporizers, pen vaporizers must be cleaned on a regular basis to prevent buildups of resin. Over time, resin from the mist-like vapor will accumulate within the chamber and mouthpiece, restricting airflow and your ability to get a solid draw. By cleaning your pen vaporizer on a regular basis, however, it will prevent buildups such as this from occurring, allowing for a smooth, consistent draw each and every time.
