Conduction Vaporizer Tips and Tricks
Are you thinking about purchasing a new vaporizer? There's a reason why these devices have become so popular in recent years: they allow users to fully enjoy herb and essential oils without exposing themselves to the countless number of toxic chemicals that are commonly found in smoke.
Most vaporizers can be broken down into one of two different categories: convection and conduction. Much like a convection oven, convection vaporizers work by passing warm air through the herb or oil in an effort to heat. This allows for a smooth, consistent heating while minimizing the risk of burning. Conduction vaporizers, on the other hand, work by exposing herb or oil directly to a heating element. If you are planning to buy a new conduction vaporizer, we have some tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your new device.
Clean the Heating Element Regularly
Because conduction vaporizers work by exposing herb or oil directly to the heating element, it's not uncommon for the heating element to accumulate dirt and debris over time. When this occurs, it can restrict the flow of heat to the herb or oil, in which case the vaporizer will be ineffective. You can prevent this from happening, however, by cleaning the heating element on a regular basis. Using an alcohol wipe, gently clean the heating element, wiping away any debris that has accumulated here.
Grind Your Herb
When using a conduction vaporizer to vape herb, it's recommended that your grind your herb into a fine, almost pollen-like consistency for maximum results. Attempting to use a conduction vaporizer with large chunks of herb isn't going to work, as the heating element will only burn the outside of the herb without affecting the inside of it. To ensure a smooth and consistent draw, grind your herb beforehand using a high-quality, multi-piece grinder.
Read the Owner's Manual
I know this probably sounds like common sense, but it's still worth mentioning that you should read the owner's manual of your conduction vaporizer. Some people assume that all vaporizers are the same. And while some models may share similarities, they differ in terms of function and design. The only way you'll fully understanding your conduction vaporizer is by reading the owner's manual. This will reveal key information, such as how to operate it, optimizing the temperature setting, and how to clean it.
